The Luz Verde cannabis party can run for office after passing a judicial process
Luz Verde is the only party in Spain whose express objective is to achieve the regulation of cannabis, it will be able to run in the next general elections. The Central Administrative Litigation Court number 5 of the National Court has filed the abbreviated procedure for the dissolution of this formation, after the Prosecutor’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office have withdrawn the petition for dissolution that they had presented last November for non-compliance with the provisions of the Law of Parties.
Luz Verde considers this judicial resolution “a resounding victory” that puts an end to an “unjust cause to dissolve the only political party in Europe that exclusively demands the legalization of cannabis.” Its vice president, Fermín Les, assures that it has been “a very painful process”, in which they have been accused “of false illegalities.”
“It is a happy day for cannabis and for democracy. We tell the PSOE clearly that this is not the way. The way is to legalize and stop useless repression. Now we can finally dedicate ourselves to our objective, which is none other than throughout Spain, democratic cannabis for adult use is a reality just as it is in other places,” says Les.
The National Court files the case after withdrawing the request for dissolution of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of the Interior as the formation has adapted its statutes to the Law of Parties
